Kebbi pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

The Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the death of one of its pilgrims, Tawalkatu Busare Alako, from Jega Local Government Area of the state.

Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, the executive chairman of the board, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

He said the deceased died on Saturday after a brief illness, adding that her funeral prayer and burial took place at the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Ka’aba) according to Islamic rites on the same day.

Meanwhile, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, has condoled with the Kebbi State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board over the death of the pilgrim.

In a condolence message delivered by the Makkah Office Coordinator, Dr Aliyu Tanko, to the board officials led by Alhaji Garba Takware, the chairman expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the family and the people of Kebbi State and prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.

In his response, Takware thanked the leadership of the commission for the visit and prayed for a very successful Hajj Operation.

Special supplication was made for the soul of the deceased, other pilgrims and for the country (Nigeria). Those who accompanied the coordinator on the visit include, among others, Saudi Liaison Officer, Ustaz Abubakar Lamin.
