
Jurassic Abattoir and Commodities Development Initiative (CDI) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to access the Saudi Arabia market for red meat market.
Head, Communications Unit, Commodities Development Initiative, Mr. Nath Odiba in a press release stated that under the agreement, Jurassic Abattoir will produce high quality bovine and ovine meat products while CDI will provide off-take and market access to the Saudi market working with Saudi Agriculture and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) and private meat importers in Saudi Arabia.
Managing Director of P and I Energy Consult, owners of Jurassic Abattoir and Ranch, Dr. Anyebe Idoga, stated that the agreement which is timely will ensure partnership with federal and state government to harness the necessary investments in infrastructure and systems that will ensure Nigeria access the global market starting with the Saudi Arabia.
Idoga stated that the partnership will add to the national capacity to produce high quality meat for export while Managing Director of Commodities Development Initiative, Mr. Roland Oroh expressed optimism to ensure actualisation of the project.
He added that the agreement is projected to expand Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with high quality red meat, alfalfa hay, and soya beans meal while adding value to Nigeria’s meat export valued at US$ 273 million to US$ 451billion with over 20,000 direct jobs and 100,000 indirect jobs respectively.
