Imo Signs MoU With IHS For Deployment Of Fibre Optics Infrastructure

The Imo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IHS Nigeria, through its subsidiary GlCL, for the deployment of fibre optics infrastructure in the state.

At the MoU signing ceremony in Lagos on Thursday, both parties expressed joy at the milestone which is capable of unlocking more opportunities in the state already deploying technology to solve problems of unemployment and other challenges.

Among those at the event included the Managing Director, Heartland Fibre Optic Company Ltd, Kamaru Olajimeji; Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Services Officer, IHS Nigeria, Dapo Otunla; Director Of Heartland Fibre Optic Company ltd and Commissioner for Digital Economy, Imo State, Dr. Chimezie Amadi, and Chairman, Heartland Fibre Optic Company Ltd, Barrister Rasky Gbinigie.

Others were Vice President, Global Independent Connect Limited (GICL), Olabode Ojo; Director, Heartland Fibre Optic Company Ltd, Dr. Patrick Uzoma and Director, Heartland Fibre Optic Company Ltd, Dr. Kene Uyanwune.

Chibuike Chukwu is a Senior Correspondent with Independent Newspapers Limited, a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
