….if we don’t help the poor, our future will be difficult — Prof Bada

First Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, has urged elites in the state to help the less privileged in society because of the future when their children too will be orphans.
She stated this while speaking at the flag-off ceremony of scholarship to 450 indigenous students across tertiary institutions across Nigeria by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) M-Tech Universal Concept Ltd., Arc. Manir Musa Jega, held in Birnin Kebbi.
Idris, who urged the rich people in the society to emulate the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by inculcating the spirit of giving back to the less privileged, said that no matter how influential or rich people are, their children would become orphans in the future.
She said, “If God gave you an opportunity to be rich and wealthy in society, you should endeavor to help the children of the less privileged. Because one day, your own children will become orphans, and other people in society will be helping your children.
“We should also remember too that any child who is properly educated and assisted through this kind of scholarship ,the family of such child would always remember how to help the less privileges in the society too”.
A Senior Lecturer at the Usmanu DanFodio University Sokoto (UDUS), Professor Bello Bada in his goodwill message,noted that the future of the elites,rich people in the society would be very difficult if they refused to be assisting the poor in the society.
According to him, “if you don’t help the needies, we are joking with our future. If we don’t help the less privileges in our communities,our future will be very difficult. We should go back to our various communities and engaging in community works.
“It is then our future will be bright. We need to know that education is very important to us. It was education that brought the then Sokoto Caliphate to limelight even before the advent of Colonial master. Therefore,let us imbibe the culture of sponsoring the poor in the society”.
In his remark, Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida commended the MD /CEO M-Tech Universal Concept Ltd Arc Manir Musa Jega for the gesture extended to the 450 indigenous students stressed that his action are complement the State Government which has done alot in issue out scholarship to the indigenous students.
He appealed to other stakeholders in the state to emulate the benefactor and charged the students to always inform their parents about the government scholarships doled out to them to avoid confusion.
While speaking at the event, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, who commended the MD/CEO of M-Tech Universal Concept Ltd, Arc.. Manir Musa Jega for giving out scholarships to 450 indigenous students from the state across various tertiary institutions, said the state government had spent over N2.7 billions on the sponsorship of indigenous students for the past year.
He added that all the stakeholders in the state, like Arch. Jega, have various roles to play in the society and should do their best to uplifting less privileges in the society.
