Have some conscience – Nigerian lady tackles Salvation Ministries founder, Pastor David Ibiyeomie for asking church members to give at least 20% of the salaries as offerings after giving 10 % of their salaries as tithes

Lol. That’s 30% of your salary to a church. Invariably, let’s say you earn N500K. That’s N150K to your church, leaving you with N350K – for your school fees and occasional school requests, house upkeep, work tfare, parents allowance, personal projects, and other miscellaneous. How many times did Jesus even mention tithes and offerings?? Just in passing when he mentioned the poor woman who gave her last mite (offering) but would have more reward in heaven. Then where he condemned the Pharisees (like the pastors of today) for always emphasizing tithes, while ignoring the matter of mercy. Here;s Jesus ONLY mention of tithe while He lived on earth (even though pastors today practically sing about tithes every Sunday). “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” (Matt 22:23). In other words, Showing mercy is more important than tithes. If you have a chance to feed the poor or to give to the church, God would honor the latter more.
