Hardship: TUC withdraws from NLC’s protest, asks FG to allow importation of food items
The Trade Union Congress, TUC, has told President Bola Tinubu to as a matter of urgency, order importation of food items within two weeks from any part of the world to cushion the effect of hardship in the country.
TUC has also accused the International Monetary Fund, IMF, and the World Bank of being behind the high cost of living in the country through their advice for the removal of subsidy on petroleum products and electricity tariffs and told the government to stop following the dictates of the two world bodies.
This is as the Congress has insisted that it was not part of the proposed nationwide protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and would not participate in any process that ab initio, it was not a party to.
These among others were the crux of the press briefing by the President of TUC, Comrade Festus Osofo in Abuja on Monday.
