Hajj 2024: Cleric seeks stakeholders’ synergy for pilgrims’ welfare

A Muslim cleric and managing director of Comerel Travels and Tours Limited, Ustaz Abubakr Siddeeq Muhammad, has called for robust synergy between Hajj service providers (Tour Operators), the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and state pilgrims welfare boards for a better service delivery to the pilgrims.

He made the call on Saturday in Abuja at the 2024 Hajj induction course for intending pilgrims organised by Comerel Travel and Tour Limited, in collaboration with Whitebird Tourism and Al Mairad Travel Limited for their pilgrims.

He also urged the pilgrims to this year’s Hajj exercise to be good ambassadors of the country.

He said the three companies came together to promote efficient and better service delivery to the pilgrims and that the essence of the induction was to prepare the pilgrims for the all-important spiritual journey and acquaint them on what to expect or do in the Holy Land.

“I think it is high time we started as people who are working in the Hajj industry to look at how we can work together without losing our identity and let the pilgrims have a clear understand what exactly the situations are.

“The Saudi Arabia Hajj Ministry is trying to reduce the number of companies that are making registration and signing contract with service providers in Saudi Arabia, but that does not diminish the level and standard of other companies known to be frontal in discharge of their obligations,” Ustaz Muhammad said.

The Ameerul (leader) Hajj of the organisation, Ustadh Saidu Is’haq, tutoring the intending pilgrims on theoretical and practical parts of the pilgrimage, urged them to take the rites of Hajj seriously and avoid distractions that can hinder their getting the maximum rewards.

He urged the pilgrims to learn the various hajj rites before their journey so that they would be able to perform the act meritoriously.
