Foundation Employs 200 Voluntary Teachers In Kano

The Kabir Abubakar Foundation, under the leadership of Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, a member of the House of Representatives for the Bichi Federal constituency in Kano State, has issued appointment letters to the 200 newly employed and salary upgrade letters to 118 existing voluntary teachers.

The head of the education committee of the Kabir Abubakar Foundation, Dr Habib Abdul, stated this while addressing newsmen during the grand occasion held at Bichi.

He said the foundation has employed the new teachers, bringing the total number of teachers to 318.

He said the newly employed teachers will be posted to primary, secondary, and Islamic schools throughout the Bichi Local Government.

He noted that since 2020, the education committee, sponsored by the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, has employed 106 teachers in Bichi, which later increased to 118.

The chairman also recalled that in October 2024, the member of the House of Representatives, Honorable Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, increased the salary of the employed teachers from 18,000 Naira to 60,000 Naira, a 333 per cent increment.

Regarding the employment of new teachers, the education committee chairman, Dr Habibu, added that the Honorable Abubakar Kabir Abubakar directed the foundation to employ an additional 200 new teachers due to the shortage of teachers in the constituency.

The breakdown for the employment of the teachers by the foundation is as follows: Islamic Teachers: 50; Primary School Teachers: 130; Upper Basic School Teachers: 98; Senior Secondary School Teachers: 40

The chairman of the education committee further said the total number employed by the Foundation to improve the quality of learning in Bichi is 318, comprising 196 males and 122 females. Hence, their appointment letters, including those for salary upgrades, were issued today.
