Hardship in Nigeria: Former President of Nigeria Students in Australia Calls For Calm and cries to President Tinubu to ameliorate the hardship

There is no doubt that the economy is biting hard in the country as anger and frustration among Nigerians, especially the youths, continue to linger.

Speaking to newsmen in far away Sydney, Australia Comrade Tochukwu Onah who is the immediate past President of Nigeria Students in Australia called on President Bola Tinubu to understand the urgency of the moment and put necessary action in place to ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians.

‘’As a Nigerian, born and bred in the country, I understand the situation in the country very well and in my capacity I have tried to help those I can but individual help is just like a drop of water in the ocean and It can’t do much. It is the responsibility of the government to take some relevant steps and action to ensure a conducive atmosphere for small businesses to thrive and to as well provide social amenities at a subside rate, to enable individuals to afford it so as to caution the effect of the high inflation in the country. ‘’

Comrade Tochukwu Onah, who is also the president of the Diaspora Coalition for Good Governance in Nigeria (DCGGN), used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to be calm and constructive in their criticisms. Comrade Onah maintains that all over the world, it has not been easy anywhere, so as citizens of this great country, our greatest concern should be what we can do together to support our leaders and improve the country for good. In his words

“I have known President Tinubu as an intelligent leader and he listens to people, especially the youths, so let’s take advantage of his character to provide him with useful information or action based on how to improve our country. For your information, this is the only country we have, and the responsibilities fell on us directly to develop our country and we must join forces together to achieve this if we must leave a better legacy and country for our children.“

In his passionate appeal to Nigerians, Comrade Onah begged Nigerians to give Tinubu some time to unleash his genius. He noted that revamping the economy of a backward nation like ours is not an easy task.

‘’You must step on some toes and there must be a fight back and it can only take leaders like Jagaban to weather the storm and set the ship sailing on the right path which is what President Tinubu is doing at the moment. As a result, I call on Nigerians, especially the youth, to embrace hand-work or farming, instead of waiting for government jobs or political appointments which only come as a quick fix and will never be a solution to our ailing economy.

Finally, Comrade Onah commended Nigerians for their resilience and endurance to decades of bad leadership and appealed for calm amidst hunger and inflation.
