Ex- Kwara Dep Gov Peter Kisira Dies At 74

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr Peter Kisira is dead.

Kisira, who served as the deputy governor in the state between 2012- 2019 died on Saturday at the age of 74.

In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said expressed sadness on receiving the reports of the death of the former deputy governor.

“On behalf of the people and government of the state, Governor AbdulRazaq sends his heartfelt condolences to the people of Baruten and the family of Elder Kisira, whom he urges to take solace in his fine legacies as a public servant and a bureaucrat who rose to the rank of permanent secretary in the state’s civil service.

“The governor said the former deputy governor will be remembered for his life of commendable public service and dedication to good causes.

“He prays to God to receive his soul and look after the family that inherits him,” the statement added.

Also, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has commiserated with the state government over the death of the former deputy governor.

Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message signed by his spokesman, Malam Abdulazeez Arowona, described the deceased as a gentleman and administrator par excellence who served the state meritoriously in various capacities.

“The Emir, on behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, commiserate with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, people of Baruten local government area, government and people of Kwara state over the unfortunate incidence.

“Alhaji Sulu-Gambari condoled the widow, children, immediate and extended families of the late deputy governor, praying God to comfort them and repose the soul of the deceased,” the statement added.
