EFCC charges auctioneers to operate on high moral standing

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged the leadership and membership of the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA) to be a reliable partner that will continue to operate on a high moral standing.

He made the remark while welcoming the executives of the association on a courtesy visit to the commission on Monday.

The chairman was represented by the commission’s Secretary, Muhammad Hammajoda.

He said the commission admired their professionalism, adding that with collaboration, “we shall make Nigeria great again.”

“We have broadened our horizon by bringing you into the system as professional auctioneers because we always do our due diligence.

“Whatever you do as professionals engaged by the government, you have to make sure the government gets the right value,” he advised.

The National President of NAA, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya, thanked the commission for patronising the association in the disposal of assets forfeited to the federal government.

“We thank you for carrying us along. It is important to note that some government institutions that are yet to patronise us are regretting and are now looking our way for help. It is no longer news that we have helped to generate over N75b to N80b to some government institutions due to our professionalism,” he said.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of NAA, HRM King Alfred P. Diete-Spiff, who was represented by a member of the  board, Alhaji Musa Sule, thanked the EFCC chairman for the efforts to sanitise the system and appealed for continued cooperation with the association.
