Edo Speaker apologizes to Assembly staff over suspension of three lawmakers
The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, on Tuesday tendered an unreserved apology to staff of the House over the altercations and rowdiness that trailed the suspension of three lawmakers at Monday’s plenary.
Recall that the Speaker had suspended three lawmakers for allegedly plotting to impeach him and other principal officers.
Agbebaku, who suspended the lawmakers indefinitely, also accused them of being influenced by external forces to cause chaos and remove the leadership of the House, as well as making demonic incantations with fetish objects at the premises of the House.
The suspended lawmakers include two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members and one All Progressives Congress (APC) member.
