ECOWAS Holds Annual Regional Stakeholders Meeting To Review Progress On Cross Border Cooperation Support Program

The ECOWAS Directorate of Free Movement of Persons and Migration has organized a two-day Annual Regional Stakeholders Meeting on ECOWAS Cross-Border Cooperation in Abuja, Nigeria, to discuss and review the progress and implementation of the ECOWAS Cross Border Cooperation Support Program (ECBCSP) 2023-2027 and then develop the 2025 ECBCS Work Plan.

Welcoming participants from Member States on behalf of the President of the ECOWAS Commission H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray and the Commissioner in charge of Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Mrs. Massandjé Toure-Litse, the Director, Free Movement of Persons and Migration , Mr. Albert Siaw-Boateng, said the presence of participants from Member States underscored their collective commitment to strengthen cross-border cooperation towards the attainment of regional integration and socio-economic development in the region.

The ECOWAS Cross-Border Cooperation Support Programme is a multi-sectoral development programme that works with local communities, particularly at border regions to ensure social cohesion, regional construction and sustainable development.
