Dupe Olusola wins Guardian Wonder Women Award for Innovative Entrepreneurship & Careers

Dupe Olusola, Managing Director and CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, has been honoured with the Guardian Seven Wonder Women Awards for Innovative Entrepreneurship & Careers. More than 120 women were nominated with over 7,000 votes cast.

The award was announced at the Guardian Woman Festival Dinner and Awards which was held in Lagos on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Dupe Olusola joined six other women who won in different categories to make up Guardian’s Seven Wonder Women.

This recognition is a testament to an excellent track record which saw her win the Leadership CEO of the Year Award in 2023 and Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards CEO of the Year 2023, underscoring her exceptional leadership and contributions to the hospitality industry.

Seen as an inspiration and beacon of hope for female leadership and career excellence, Dupe, earlier in the year, became the first female CEO of a N1 trillion company as Transcorp Hotels’ market capitalisation rose with impressive share price growth, reaching N100 per share from N6.25 in 2023.

Starting during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dupe has seen Transcorp Hotels through the worst period in its history, going from a loss position occasioned by the pandemic to impressive year-on-year performance, with revenue reaching N42.7 billion in 2023.

Many have attributed the company’s excellent performances to the CEO’s innovative strategies and relentless pursuit of excellence. The ability to turnaround and transform businesses sets her apart in the industry.
