…As Ojigho Distributes Rice, Cash Worth Millions of Naira to Communities
The leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Ward 7, have expressed their unanimous support for Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, acknowledging his significant development strides throughout the state.
The meeting which was held at the residence of Chief Prince Evuetapha in Otokutu town, Ughievwen Kingdom, had notable figures such as the National Leader of the party in the area, Olorogun John Oguma; Chief Ojays Edirin Ojigho, the PDP chairman for the local government area; SSA Protocol to the Governor, Mr. Simon Umudi (aka Temple); Leader of the Ughelli South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Mary Andrew Majemite; SSA to the Governor, Dcn. Solomon Ala; SA to the Governor, Chief Patrick Onajophe (aka Manager); former House of Assembly aspirant, Chief Prince Evuetapha; SSA Community Development to the Governor, Chief Hope A. Ejiro and SA Women Mobilisation to the Governor, Emmanuella Oghenede in attendance.
Olorogun Edirin Temisere, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ughelli South LGA, briefed journalists on the meeting’s outcomes.
He reported that the LGA PDP chairman, Mr. Ojays Ojigho, reassured the people of Ward 7 that they have ample reasons to feel positive about the governor, given the ongoing infrastructure projects in their locality.
He also highlighted that several individuals from the ward have received appointments, pledging to continue advocating for more opportunities for underrepresented areas in terms of appointments and developmental projects.
The party chairman contributed a bag of rice and ₦100,000 to each community within the ward, as well as providing the same support to the Ughelli South LGA PDP Ward 7 executives.
Mr. Simon Umudi (aka Temple), a leader within the ward, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to the people of Ughelli South LGA, particularly Ekakpamre Ward.
He emphasized the importance of rallying support for the governor’s second term while criticizing Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, stating that he lacks the platform to contest the 2027 general elections and suggesting that he may not secure the APC nomination.
Earlier, Apostle Apoe Mukoro, the PDP chairman for the ward, expressed gratitude for the strong turnout from various community members and local government area executives at the meeting.
He encouraged unity among party members, stating that collaboration would serve as a springboard for additional appointments and development throughout the ward.
Chief Prince Evuetapha, Mrs. Gloria French, and Mrs. Juliet Biakolo echoed similar sentiments, thanking party members for their substantial attendance.
They noted that the turnout indicated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s effective governance, particularly in terms of extensive infrastructural development across various senatorial districts.
They also commended Chief Hope Ejiro and Mr. Simon Umudi for their support to leaders, youths, and women in the Egbo-Uhurie and Ekakpamre units during recent festive periods.
The ward, through a motion proposed by Dcn. Solomon Ala and seconded by Mr. Isaiah Ahwerhurho, passed a vote of confidence in Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, and pledged their commitment to ensuring his victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the defection of hundreds of individuals from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a display of their commitment, they burned their brooms and pledged their loyalty to the PDP, promising to work towards its success in the upcoming elections.
