Delta Community Newspaper Publishers Pass Vote of Confidence in Governor Oborevwori

In a show of support, members of the Delta State community newspaper publishers’ association have unanimously expressed their confidence in Governor Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori.

They applauded his transformative leadership, which has positively impacted the state.

The motion was proposed by Comrade Patrick Ochei, publisher of Anioma Trust Newspapers. He emphasized the governor’s effective management of state resources and the ongoing revitalization of Warri as a key commercial center.

Ochei highlighted the continuation of projects initiated by the previous administration. Notably, he mentioned the allocation of ₦2 billion for special projects across all 25 local government areas, which was seconded by Prince Charles Umejei, publisher of National Trumpet Newspapers.

The extraordinary meeting was convened by Elder (Dr.) Dike Awana of Frontline Newspapers and Mr. Ike Abiagom of Newsbreeze Newspapers.

It also featured Comrade Prince Joseph Orhomonokpaye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, as a guest speaker.

During the gathering, the publishers collectively congratulated the governor on receiving the prestigious award for Most Performing Governor of the Year from Thisday Newspapers and Arise TV.

In a show of unity, the publishers, as key communicators to the grassroots, reaffirmed their support for Governor Oborevwori.

They expressed their belief in his capacity to lead in a manner that benefits all citizens of Delta State, regardless of their ethnic or political backgrounds.
