This was stated in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, on Tuesday in Lagos.

It was a flight from Abuja to Lagos.

Ezenwa said the earlier incident where an aircraft with registration number, 5N BKI veered off the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, caused the flight disruptions.

“Dana Air has extended its sincerest apologies to all passengers affected by the recent schedule disruption resulting from the runway excursion involving one of its aircraft at Lagos airport.

“We understand the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers whose travel plans were disrupted due to the incident and we are deeply sorry,” he said.

According to him, remaining flights for the day have all been retimed and the passengers on these flights have been updated via email, sms and calls.

He re-assured affected passengers that the airline was working diligently to minimise disruption and accommodate their travel needs.
