The Commandant General of Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Daurawa, has settled his scores with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and has returned to his position.

Daily Trust reports that despite open resignation by Daurawa in a video via social media, he has not formally resigned in written and submitted to the appropriate authority.

In a new development Monday night, Daurawa met with the governor in company of some respected personalities.

The Hisbah boss will resume office on Tuesday, according to government sources.

Daily Trust reported that Kano State Government had been making strong moves to return the aggrieved Sheik to his position.

It was gathered that ‘Zauren Hadin Kan Malamai’ – a delegation of well respected Islamic clerics was sent to Daurawa to pacify him to return to his position as Hisbah boss.

A source familiar with the situation also told our reporter that the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore and the Chief Imam of National Mosque, Abuja, Sheikh Ibrahim Maqari were equally sent by the government to meet him.

Governor Yusuf had criticised the modus operandi of ‘operation kau da badala’ – an initiative of the board aimed at fighting immorality in the state.

Daurawa resigned less than 24 hours after the governor’s criticism and this stirred a lot of reactions and bashing from the public.
