Bishop Francis Wale Oke has been re-elected as the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for a second term.
Bishop Oke’s re-election took place during the 18th Biennial National Conference of the PFN in Abuja, thus extending his leadership of the body for another four years.
The conference, which began on Tuesday, concluded on Friday.
According to a statement issued after the re-election, “His Eminence, Bishop Francis Wale Oke is re-elected as the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) at the ongoing 18th Biennial National Conference in Abuja.
“We pray that the glory of this latter tenure will exceed the former.”
Also announcing his re-election, Bishop Oke in a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday wrote, “Honoured to be re-elected as the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. There is neither Jew, nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.’”
Bishop Wale Oke, first elected as PFN National President in 2021, is the Founder, Sword of the Spirit Ministries International and the Chancellor, Precious Cornerstone University.
Oke, who is the seventh president of the fellowship, succeeded Rev. Felix Omobude
Others who were also elected at the occasion were Cosmas Ilechukwu, Deputy National President (former National Secretary); Bishop Bakare, National Secretary (former National Deputy Secretary) and Rev. Aboyeji National Treasurer (re-elected).
Before his re-election, Bishop Oke was accused of poor performance, which the PFN leadership dismissed as politically motivated attempts to tarnish his reputation before the conference.
First elected PFN National President in 2021, Bishop Oke succeeded in becoming the PFN’s seventh president after serving as Deputy President.
Oke began his ministry in a home fellowship in Ibadan and later served as a Bible Study Leader under Pastor Enoch Adeboye in Christ Redeemers’ Ministry.
His leadership journey continued during his time at the University of Lagos, where he played a significant role in the Lagos Varsity Christian Union, serving as Bible Study Secretary and later as President for two and a half years.
