The Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in Bauchi state Thursday organised a 3-day capacity- building towards promoting academic excellence and enhancing the professional development of academic staff.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Fatimah Tahir, said the importance of the seminar, particularly for new staff members is to provide them with the crucial skill needed for optimum performance.
She said the seminar serves as an orientation for the new staff members, and was essential for their growth and development.
Hr urged participants to make the best use of the knowledge acquired.
The VC added that, “The seminar is part of SAZU’s commitment to enhancing the professional development of its academic staff. The university is dedicated to providing a conducive learning environment and promoting academic excellence.”
The director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Aliyu, said the seminar was designed to equip academic staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
He stated that the seminar covered a range of topics including effective research grant writing, leveraging digital tools for teaching, reflective practice, and introduction to Research and Open Science for life science.
