Bandits Kill Zamfara PDP Chieftain, 2 Others

Bandits have killed a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chieftain, Alhaji Shafiu Abubakar and two others at Danbaza junction enroute Maradun town, the headquarters of Maradun local government area.
LEADERSHIP gathered that bandits had been attacking motorists on the 10-kilometre road to Maradun, killing and abducting their victims.

In the recent incident, the bandits barricaded the road with stones to trap the motorists going to Maradun town.
The vehicle was trapped and bandits opened fire on the passengers killing the PDP chieftain, two others and three others were seriously injured.
Abubakar met his death while nursing to contest for the chairmanship of the Maradun local government council in the forthcoming council election.

People have been experiencing concern over rampant attacks on the road, in spite of the presence of the military and mobile office with the area.

The inhabitants have called for serious action against the bandits in the area, as they dare to sack the entire town of Maradun, the country home of the minister of State Defence, Bello Matawalle.
