Art Hotel explains sponsorship of Polo Club

As Polo enthusiasts and players gear up for the forthcoming Majekodunmi Cup, the management of Art Hotel, Oniru, Lagos has explained the decision to sponsor a Polo club.

The hotel’s Sports Director, Adetunji Abdul, at a press conference yesterday held at the Oniru Palace, disclosed the management’s intention was to enhance the significant of the sports and celebrate a game traditionally known as the sports of kings.

Abdul stressed that the press conference was held at the Palace instead of the hotel premises is to further give impetus to the fact that the sport is really that for kings.

“Hosting the press conference at the Oba Oniru Palace is a change from the usual venue at the Art Hotel is made with the intention of enhancing the significance of the event and celebrating the polo which is traditionally known as the sport of kings,” he said.

According to him, the management adopts Polo because it’s a sport Nigerians love while emphasizing that the that the management is proud to sponsor a club to compete with other clubs.

One of the two players from Argentina, Manuel Elizalde, who’s in Nigeria for the first time admitted that the Nigeria polo is the toughest in Africa, hence why he decided to play for the Art Hotel team.
