Akeredolu’s funeral: Aiyedatiwa hails late boss for strengthening judiciary in Ondo

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Wednesday lauded his late boss, former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for strengthening the judicial system in the state.

During a special court session held in honour of the late Akeredolu at Court 1 of the Ondo State High Court, the governor stated that the former governor did not interfere in court cases.

He also hailed Akeredolu for bolstering the judicial system in the state and for his unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law in the fight against crimes and criminal activities while alive.

Aiyedatiwa said: “At the closest quarter of personal observation and working relationship with him, the point was well made to me that of all creation of God, man, only man has the greatest, singular, and most indomitable capacity to affect the course of history.

“This, in my humble view, is possible because of man’s higher power of imagination, discipline, and fortitude. My leader was, by every inch, an achiever and a success story. We remember his sojourn as Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

“We remember his clarity of mind and oneness of definition of his role and duties as the chief law officer of the state. My lord, the legend is forever told of his direct, open, and unambiguous condemnation of his principal and Military Governor of Ondo State on account of his invasion of the private residence of Papa Michael Adekunle Ajasin, the first civilian Governor of Ondo State, who was at that time the leader of the Yoruba.

“We must remember that this was in the most difficult and darkest days of brutality, suppression, and repression by the military governance of our country.”
