Kevin Spacey has dismissed fresh claims on Channel 4’s new documentary which will probe new sex allegation claims from several men. 

 

Channel 4’s two-part series comes nine months after Spacey was cleared of nine sexual assault charges and looks at fresh claims against him made by several men, ‘almost all of whom have never spoken before’. 

 

It is said to take a ‘forensic look at a man who was once one of the most admired and respected actors in the world’.

 

It was also gathered that there are on-camera testimonies from British and American men, whose identities will not be obscured, about their experiences with Spacey over the course of 50 years.

 

Spacey, 64, seems to disregard the show as a work of fiction in a statement given to entertainment magazine Variety.

 

He said: ‘I’m honoured to be starring in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years.

 

‘I hope the Academy takes note of some of the great acting by the lesser-known cast.’

 

One source who is said to be close to the project has been left ‘speechless’ by Spacey’s response and the ‘sheer cockiness’ of it.

 

Spacey was previously accused of abusing his fame and power to carry out nine sex attacks on four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. But he insisted the claims were ‘madness’ and accused the claimants of ‘lying for money’.

 

In July 2023, the actor was dramatically cleared of sexually assaulting the four men following a high-profile trial at Southwark Crown Court in which Sir Elton John gave evidence in his defence.

 

Channel 4 rolled out the trailer for Spacey Unmasked on the weekend in which a voiceover from two men being played over archived images of the actor says: ‘This wasn’t just any guy … this was Kevin freakin’ Spacey’ and ‘I knew I was in a ‘sell your soul’ situation’.

 

The show is produced by the channel’s former head of news and current affairs Dorothy Byrne, who said when it was announced in 2022 that it would be ‘following the unfolding story of the allegations of abuse against him and the resulting court cases’.

 

It is understood that lawyers are waiting to hear back from Spacey’s representatives for a response to the new allegations.

 

Channel 4 told MailOnline: ‘Spacey has been offered a right to reply in relation to the contents of the two part documentary.’
