3 killed in Benue community

Bandits have reportedly killed three people in separate attacks on communities of Apa Local Government Area in Benue State.

Residents of the areas said the deceased were killed on Sunday in the villages of Inyapu, Ikobi and Ugbobi in the LGA.

The villagers lamented that attacks by the invaders had continued on a daily basis despite the deployment of security personnel to the area.

“People can’t go to farm any longer as some have been killed when they attempted to do so,” a villager lamented.

Barrister Eche Akpoko, Chairman of Apa Development Association, confirmed the killing of the three people in a text message to our correspondent in Makurdi.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, said she was yet to get a report on the incident.
