16 males, 1 female — INEC publishes final list of candidates for Edo governorship election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has
published its final list of candidates seeking to contest the Edo governorship
election in September.
Godwin Obaseki, incumbent governor of Edo, is rounding off
his second and final term in office.
In a statement on Monday, Sam Olumekun, INEC’s commissioner
for information and voter education, said 17 political parties have presented
candidates seeking to succeed Obaseki.
Olumekun said of the 17 candidates, 16 are male while one is
female.
