100-level student kills UNIDEL finalist while learning how to drive

Delta State Police command has confirmed the kiling of a final year student of University of Delta (UNIDEL).

Awele Eluemunor was killed by a 100-level student of the same school while learning how to drive.

The tragic accident occurred in Agbor, Ika south local government area of Delta State last Tuesday.

According to reports, the young woman, whose name has not yet been disclosed, was being taught how to drive by her boyfriend, allegedly a suspected internet fraudster (Yahoo boy).

During the learning, she lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road, hitting pedestrians.

One of the victims, Awele Eluemunor, a final-year student of the College of Nursing, Agbor, was killed instantly.

Awele, who was set to graduate in November, tragically lost her life at the scene.

Two other individuals sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Eyewitnesses revealed that immediately after the accident, the boyfriend, who owned the car, fled the scene, abandoning the young driver.

Authorities did not confirm whether the suspect has been apprehended.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident, noting that one died while another was injured.

He said: “One dead and one injured confirmed”.
