The special adviser to Kebbi state governor, on communication and strategy, Abdulllahi Idris Zuru, has chided the former minister of justice and attorney general of federation, Abubakar chika Malami for alleging that governor Idris hired thugs from neighboring states.

Zuru, who described Malami as a confused new breed politician posited that his fear for Idris gave birth to his political desperation to stop the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Nasir Idris who are already enjoying unprecedented support well meaning Nigerians.

According to him though the Nation’s nascent democracy is gradually developing, the beauty of it as globally acknowledged is that it gives the people the absolute right to decide who govern them through an election process at all levels of governance.

Adding that it’s common knowledge that under the present political dispensation in the country, some ambitious,selfish, and greedy politicians are relentlessly attempting to adultrate the system in many states including Kebbi where desparate politicians engaged in deceitful political tactics and political hooliganism, but the apparent increasing awareness among Nigerians on the need to elect people with credibility and track record of selfless services is making it difficult for some political merchants.

He explained that before Idris ventured into full pledged partisan politics in 2023, the philanthropic gestures and humanitarian services being offered by him at NUT in different parts of the state over the years have already transformed him to an active unionist that served the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) as National President and thereafter, became the Deputy National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

He posited that Governor Nasir Idris two years stewardship of Kebbi State has witnessed unprecedented infrastructural development and economic growth that changed the narrative of the state development.

He had not only executed valuable infrastructure but implemented results oriented economic empowerment programmes for different segments of the society in the state.

He stated that in what seems to be surprised but impressive to the people was the governor’s foresight of including in his urban renewal programme, the completion of the numerous uncompleted developmental projects inherited from his predecessors since 1999.

“The commendable act of patriotism and genuine commitment to the development of the state was acknowledged and appreciated by the stakeholders in the Kebbi project.
As it eventually manifested, the uncommon leadership qualities of the Comrade Governor, made the leadership and membership of the opposition political parties,particularly members of the state and National Assemblies elected under the opposition political parties together with their different political camps, defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).”

Obviously overwhelmed by the unprecedented support he enjoys from the people of the state the stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress(APC) unanimously passed a vote of absolute confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorsed their candidature for a second term tenure in the forthcoming 2027 general elections
.
However, according to Zuru the unanimous resolution of the major stakeholders in the Kebbi project didn’t go down well with the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami whose quest for massive wealth accumulation has never been doubtful pushed him to resort to smear campaign against Kebbi governor.

Expectedly, the governorship dream of the Senior Advocate was shattered, the situation that made him become hopeless, frustrated, and blindfolded by selfish and desperate governorship ambition.

When it became evident that the All Progressive Congress (APC) endorsed governorship candidate for 2027 elections is unargualably unbeatable, he decided to resign from the party, joined a coalition of ambitious politicians under the Action Democratic Congress(ADC), the party that has no leadership at all levels in the state, and singlehandedly anointed himself as the governorship candidate he said.

He maintained that Malami who is determined to achieve his selfish political ambition despite the visible impossibilities, was alleged to have resolved to deploy the enormous resources accumulated, to sabotage the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris through funding of campaign of calumny and sponsorship of destructive acts of hooliganism and political thuggery in Kebbi State. To achieve selfish ambition, Malami allegedly assembled consultants at his Kano hotel and a radio station in Abuja, with the task of fabricating and production of deceptive falsehood into radio and television programmes against President Tinubu and Governor Nasir and
distributed to radio stations and social media platforms.

Moreover he added when the deceitful devise couldn’t produce the desired results, and the possibility of humiliation and outright defeat in 2027 remains glaringly clear, Malami allegedly resolved to engage hired armed political thugs from the neighbouring states who started their duty with escorting him to a condolence visit to the Emir of Gwandu’s palace. In the process, they violently harassed intimidated and vandalised the properties of innocent people, including the state Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress ( APC)

In an attempt to mislead the security agencies and attract public sympathy, Malami hurriedly forwarded petitioned to the security agencies and alleged importation of thugs and mercenaries by the state government to the state.

The All Progressive Congress major stakeholders in the state, which included the membership of the state and National Assemblies at a press conference addressed by Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero called for the immediate arrest, investigation and prosecution of Abubakar Malami for making baseless allegations against the state government, capable of causing fear and anxiety among the people of the state.

With the glaring threat to peace, unity, and peace in the state being orchestrated by the desperate power-hungry ambitious politicians, how can such exhibited unpatriotic, selfish and inhuman activities be compared with humility, generosity,demonstrated commitment to ensuring peace and development he concluded.
