Zoho unveils AI platform to transform enterprise operations

By Chinenye Anuforo

Zoho Corporation, a  technology solutions firm, has announced the launch of Zia Agents, a cutting-edge AI platform designed to empower enterprises with intelligent, autonomous digital agents. This new platform, alongside Agent Studio and Agent Marketplace, marks a significant expansion of Zoho’s decade-long investment in artificial intelligence, promising unparalleled context-aware and data-driven value for customers worldwide.

Zoho revealed that the new Zia Agents will be deployed across its extensive portfolio of over 100 products in the coming weeks. The company also previewed several pre-built, task-specific agents, including an Account Manager Agent, SDR Agent, HR Agent, Customer Support Agent, IT Help Desk Agent, and SalesCoach Agent, among others.

Zoho’s journey with AI began in 2015 with the launch of Zia, its foundational AI platform. Over the years, Zia has evolved from proactive to prescriptive, generative, and now agentic capabilities. In 2018, Zoho introduced Ask Zia, a conversational assistant that has become a cornerstone of employee productivity, enabling tasks like customer churn analysis, help desk ticket management, and industry trend analysis, all within a unified interface.

With the introduction of Zia Agents, Zoho is taking a giant leap forward. These autonomous agents are designed to perform complex, task-specific functions across organizations, leveraging Zoho’s unified data platform and shared data model. The agents can be customized using Zia Agent Studio, a no-code/low-code platform that allows users to build and deploy tailored agents with inherited skillsets. These agents can then be distributed through the Agent Marketplace, where Zoho and its ecosystem of partners and developers will offer a wide range of pre-built and specialized AI solutions.

Sridhar Vembu, Zoho Corporation’s Co-founder and Chief Scientist, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and customer value. “The speed of disruption and quality of innovation in our industry has inspired me to focus on my passion for technology. I will be spearheading deep R&D initiatives, starting with AI,” said Vembu. “By leveraging Zoho’s engineering expertise, our own data centers, and shared data model, we aim to develop powerful, privacy-compliant solutions that deliver real value to our customers.”

The Zia Agent Studio is a game-changer for businesses looking to harness AI without extensive technical expertise. Users can create agents tailored to specific needs, such as email support or cross-functional tasks like loan approvals. These agents can be deployed across Zoho applications and summoned via Ask Zia, with future compatibility planned for third-party applications.

The Agent Marketplace will serve as a hub for AI innovation, offering a pre-built roster of agents from Zoho and specialized agents from partners and developers. This marketplace will enable organizations to instantly deploy and reuse AI agents, fostering a collaborative ecosystem of AI-driven solutions.

This announcement comes on the heels of Zoho Corporation’s record growth in 2024, during which the company onboarded 110,000 new customers globally. With over 850,000 customers across diverse industries, Zoho’s AI solutions are informed by a vast range of functional data, setting the company apart in the competitive tech landscape.

Zoho’s technological differentiation lies in its shared data model, owned tech stack, and global data centers, which enable the development of highly secure, privacy-compliant, and context-aware AI agents. This unique combination of breadth and depth positions Zoho as a leader in AI deployment, delivering superior technology at high value to its growing customer base.

The new capabilities will initially roll out to a limited set of customers, with plans to expand availability monthly. Enterprises eager to explore the potential of Zia Agents can look forward to a future where AI-driven automation transforms how they operate, innovate, and serve their customers.
