Zamfara: NSCDC intercepts 1,296 litres of fuel in jerrycans, arrests suspects

Operatives of Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has intercepted 1,296 litres of petroleum products in jerrycans, suspected to be bought for bandits.

This was disclosed by by the Commandant, Sani Mustapha, who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Command, Umar Muhammad.

He told newsmen in Gusau that the NSCDC operatives also apprehended four suspects in two separate locations in connection with the crime.

According to him, two of the suspects are filling station pump attendants, while the others were buyers.

The Zamfara State NSCDC boss explained that apart from taking the fuel from a dark spot, they violated the Executive Order banning the sale of petroleum products in jerrycans in the state.

He further stated that two of the suspects were arrested in Birnin Magaji with 1,296 litres, while the other two were in Tsafe, with 275 litres of the product.
