Zamfara: Gunmen have attacked Maru town 60 times in 2 years – Rep

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Abdulmalik Zubairu has lamented that Maru town has been attacked by bandits 60 tomes in two years.

Zubairu noted that he visited the area 60 times for the purpose of condolences, saying that the records are there for anybody who doubt to verify.

The federal lawmaker further stated that the authority that supposed to care has not been doing the needful, pointing out that over 30 people were abducted in the latest attack.

He said that there was no condolence by the authority, charging the electorate to make their judgement to arm themselves with vital information before 2027 general elections.

According to him, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state being led by the Minister of State, Defense, Bello Muhammed Matawalle and Senator Abdulaziz Yari cannot be afraid of anybody, and is ready to challenge anybody that dares it.

“We are all watching the actions and reactions, we are not the judge, but the electorates would judge during 2023 general elections,” he added.

Speaking at the event, the immediate past governor of the State, Bello Matawalle who spoke through his former deputy, Senator Hassan Nasiha, expressed sadness over the Maru attack.

The minister appealed to APC’s supporters in the state to remain calm and continue to obey the laws of the land.
