He stated, “All the traditional title holders, you have work to do. You have many roles to play. Do not snatch people’s wives and lands.
“I hope you are all listening to me. That is not your roles.”
The former governor emphasized the unity and cultural significance of Ibadan, describing the city as a home for all Yoruba people.
He said, “Any Yoruba who has no house in Ibadan is yet to have a house. I am happy for the life of our governor; all Ibadan indigenes are the sons and daughters of Ibadanland.”
Oba Ladoja also addressed concerns about potential unrest in Ibadan, reassuring citizens that the city remains stable.
“Some people thought Ibadan will be in crisis. We have settled it. Ibadan has only one room but different windows. We settle things by ourselves,” he said.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to the coronation committee and affirming his commitment to public service, saying, “God still wants me to work more for the people of Ibadanland, Nigeria, and Africa.
“I will continue to work for the people. I want to thank the coronation committee.”
