Damaturu – The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) and the entire state are in mourning following the sudden passing of its Chairman, Dr. Mamman Mohammed. Dr. Mohammed, a medical Doctor by profession and a seasoned civil servant, died this evening at the Yobe State Teaching Hospital in Damaturu after a brief illness.

Dr. Mohammed was known for his selfless service and dedication to promoting democracy and good governance in Yobe State. His leadership at SIEC was marked by professionalism and commitment to fairness.

The funeral prayers for Dr. Mohammed will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Emir of Fika’s Palace in Potiskum town. The news of his passing has sent shockwaves throughout the state, with tributes pouring in for the deceased.
