YCYW Mobilizes Yoruba Leaders For Release Of Kidnapped Afenifere Youth Leader, Ojajuni

3 hours ago 19

The Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide (YCYW) has raised a red alert on the worsening state of security in Nigeria, particularly in the Southwest, following the abduction of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the Afenifere Youth Leader, by suspected Fulani terrorists in Abuja.

In light of this disturbing development, the group urgently call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), all Yoruba Obas, and relevant security agencies to take decisive action to ensure his immediate and safe release.

This was contained in statement on Thursday signed by trio of the National Coordinator, Aare Alawode Rahmon, National Secretary, Omoluabi Olufowobi Desmond and the Publicity Secretary, Ogbeni Kabir Ajibode of the YCYW.

According to the statement, “The demand for a N100 million ransom by the kidnappers is not only an insult but also a direct challenge to our collective security as a people.

“The YCYW, under the leadership of Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon, and as conveyed in this statement by the group Publicity Secretary, Ogbeni Kabir Ajibode, strongly urges the Southwest Governors to lead negotiations and press for immediate government intervention to secure the release of Prince Ojajuni.

“We also demand a comprehensive security overhaul across the Southwest, ensuring the protection of lives and properties of Yoruba people against rising threats from terrorist elements infiltrating our region.

“The Yoruba nation will not tolerate this continuous assault on our people. We stand united, ready to take every necessary step to ensure the safety of our youth and the entire Southwest region. We call on all Yoruba sons and daughters, home and abroad, to stay alert and lend their voices to this urgent matter. The time for action is NOW.”
