Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has weighed in on the speculation surrounding Rodrygo, stressing that his main concern is the Brazilian’s commitment rather than the ongoing transfer noise.
Rodrygo has been linked with a big-money move to Manchester City this summer, with reports suggesting the Premier League champions are preparing a substantial bid.
His place in the squad has become less certain following the arrivals of Kylian Mbappé and teenage sensation Endrick, who join Vinícius Jr. in an increasingly competitive frontline.
Speaking ahead of Madrid’s La Liga opener against Osasuna, Alonso made it clear that he expects full dedication from the forward despite the rumours.
“There are a lot of rumours during the summer. He’s been doing well. I’m counting on everyone, and I want them to be committed to and for the team and to be at 100%.
“That’s what worries me and what’s occupying me right now,” Alonso said.
