Popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is currently experiencing a global outage, with thousands of users reporting issues with loading posts.
According to Downdetector, the issue started around 11 am with close to 12,000 users reportedly experiencing issues with the app and web browser version. Both are showing a “posts aren’t loading right now” message for users.
While X is yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter, reports explained that the issue originated from Cloudflare, an American company that provides web security and a Content Delivery Network (CDN).

Earlier on Tuesday, Cloudflare confirmed that it is experiencing issues with its global network, and an investigation is ongoing. This was believed to have impacted X. Other platforms, such as Downdetector, were said to have experienced issues for a short period.
“Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers. Further details will be provided as more information becomes available,” it said.
Cloudflare noted that its Cloudflare dashboard feature and application programming interface were also failing. However, it explained that efforts are ongoing to address the issue and provide a solution.
This follows a recent AWS global outage in October that affected multiple platforms, including Grammarly, Snapchat, and Reddit.
