Super Eagles and Sevilla forward Akor Adams has revealed how Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen inspired him when he was still a teenager, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old made his debut for the Nigerian national team last Friday, coming off against Lesotho, and found the back of the net a few minutes later, courtesy of an assist from Osimhen.
The duo were paired in attack by Eric Chelle against the Republic of Benin, and the combination yielded fruit as Nigeria scored four goals at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

However, after the game, the former Montpellier attacker took time to count his blessings, recounting one of his experiences with his strike partner when he was still playing for Norwegian side FC Sogndal.
Akor Adams recounts Osimhen encounter
Fresh off an unfruitful FIFA U-20 World Cup experience in 2019, and still finding his feet in European football, Adams reached out to Victor Osimhen, who was plying his trade with French side LOSC Lille at the time.
The Sevilla striker asked Osimhen how he dealt with bad games and training sessions. The 2023 CAF Player of the Year then replied, telling a 19-year-old Akor to keep his dreams alive by working hard, believing in his abilities and trusting in God to sort things out in due time.

Akor took to his Instagram page after the game against Benin to thank Osimhen for his early days, claiming the opportunity to play alongside the lethal goalscorer is a script only God could’ve penned.
The past two weeks have been blissful for Akor. He made history by finding the back of the net against Sevilla before the International break.
A debut call-up to the national team followed, and a first appearance in the team’s colours shortly after, which then birthed his first goal for the Super Eagles and the opportunity to play alongside Victor Osimhen.
