The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived safely in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, after a flight disruption forced their aircraft to make an emergency return to Luanda, Angola.
Daily Trust had reported how the ValueJet aircraft conveying the team developed a cracked windscreen shortly after takeoff from a refuelling stop in Angola.
According to the NFF, the team was en route to Nigeria on Saturday following their 2–1 victory over Lesotho in Polokwane, South Africa, when the incident happened.

The flight was forced to return to the Luanda airport for safety checks, leaving players and officials stranded for several hours while arrangements were made for another aircraft.
After securing flight clearance, the Super Eagles departed Angola and landed at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on Sunday morning.
The Nigerian side is expected to resume training immediately ahead of their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Squirrels of Benin Republic on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Nigeria currently sit third in Group C with 14 points, behind Benin Republic and South Africa.
The Eagles must win their final fixture and hope South Africa drop points against Rwanda to secure automatic qualification for the World Cup.
