World boxing president set to visit Nigeria

The World Boxing President, Boris Van Der Vorst is set to visit Nigeria from February 23 to 26, 2025.

In a statement signed by Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) on Wednesday, in Abuja, said that, the historic visit is coming on the heels of myriad of challenges facing the game of boxing in the continent of Africa.

His visit is part of his continuous engagement with key boxing stakeholders around the world, especially Africa to seek support from Nigeria and other African countries towards moving the game of boxing forward.

President Boris Van Der Vorst will also meet with the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Olympic Committee  (NOC), as key stakeholders who play pivotal roles in making sure that Nigeria has good representation in boxing globally.

His visit is expected to bring lots attention to the game of Boxing, in the areas of Boxing Gyms development, provision of standard equipment that will enhance training and good performance of Boxing athletes during competitions.

President Boris Van Der Vorst, is scheduled to arrive the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Abuja on February  23 and will visit local boxing gyms after official welcome ceremony.

He will be meeting with boxing federations Presidents from other African countries on February 24 followed by a dinner later in the day.

President Boris Van Der Vorst, will as part of his visit to the country, pay courtesy visit on the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), on February 25, 2025. He will depart Nigeria on ebruary 26, 2025.
