Woof Studios, YouTube launch PluggedIn to enhance Nigeria’s creator economy

Woof Studios, Africa’s top Creator Service Provider (CSP), in partnership with YouTube, has launched an initiative that will transform the Nigerian content creation from an informal hustle into a stable, professional industry.

The new initiative, called PluggedIn, acknowledges that digital content creators are no longer just social media personalities but serious media entrepreneurs who require a robust business framework.

The partnership arrives at a moment when the Nigerian digital scene is thriving. According to YouTube, the audience is highly engaged with YouTube watch time soaring over 50% every year, and the platform is reaching more than 30 million adults monthly.

This huge digital shift has created a class of professionals, as a recent Market.biz analysis showed that nearly 47% of content creators globally now work full-time. For Nigerian creators, this move means treating their successful channels as the businesses they have become.

“Nigerian creators are thinking bigger, and that’s exactly what brands want to be part of. Our role is to handle the business and production complexities, making it seamless for great ideas to get funded, made, and seen by millions,” Adetutu Laditan, Founder & Creative Director at Woof Studios, said.

This audience growth has powered a wave of content creators who are now building full-time careers; almost of Nigerian creators report working full-time, confirming the industry’s need for formalisation.

About Woof Studio’s new initiative

According to Woof Studios, PluggedIn is designed to foster deeper, community-focused partnerships between creators and brands that are authentic and lasting.

During the PluggedIn event, Nigeria’s top YouTube creators and leading brands came together to explore this new frontier of collaboration in marketing. The goal is to spark collaborations that can grow from a single video into a fan-favourite series.

“The fundamental rule of marketing has changed. Consumers are in full control, and they choose to spend their time with creators they trust. For brands, this represents a key opportunity. Partnering with a creator on YouTube provides a platform for brands to become part of a community and tell their stories through voices that people genuinely listen to,” Dammy Abodunrin, Industry Manager, Google, said.

He added that at the same time, these collaborations provide creators with the resources to fund their biggest ideas and build their channels into lasting media businesses.

“PluggedIn was designed to foster these powerful connections, creating a true win-win for brands, creators, and their fans,” he said.

Creators are eager for this professionalisation. Ifeyinwa Mogekwu, also known as Ify’s Kitchen, noted that while her community loves food, they also love the stories behind it.

“My community loves food, but they also love the stories behind the food. For a long time, I’ve wanted to create bigger projects, like a travel cooking series or a professionally produced show. Partnerships with brands make that possible,” she said.

She sees PluggedIn as the pathway to create bigger projects by connecting with brands that understand that viewers want quality content, not just a quick sales pitch.

“PluggedIn is helping us start the right conversations. It’s about finding brands that understand that our viewers want quality content, not just a quick ad. It’s a chance to collaborate on something truly special that everyone will enjoy,” Ifeyinwa added.

PluggedIn is not just about making more money; It’s the formal blueprint for turning digital influence into long-term, sustainable wealth.

For brands, this means moving beyond interruptive ads and working directly with the storytellers their audiences trust. This is vital because two-thirds of Nigerian consumers actually discover new products on YouTube. By engaging with creators, brands can genuinely become part of the community conversation.

For the creators, Woof Studios acts as the vital bridge, handling the business, production, and financial complexities of these high-value deals.

This allows creators to secure the resources they need to fund ambitious projects and focus solely on crafting high-quality content, ultimately building lasting media businesses.
