Woman tricks husband into selling kidney, steals money, elopes with lover

2 weeks ago 19

An Indian woman has been accused of tricking her husband into selling his kidney on the black market to fund their daughter’s education only to then steal the money and run away with her lover.

A woman from West Bengal allegedly spent months trying to convince her husband to sell one of his kidneys in order to fund their daughter’s higher education and arrange her marriage in the future.

Although reluctant at first, the man eventually grew to believe that his sacrifice would improve the family’s financial situation and secure his child’s future. He spent a year looking for a buyer on the black market, as selling human organs has been illegal in India for over three decades. But he finally found one about three months ago.

After going through the painful procedure, he entrusted the money for his kidney (1 million rupees or $11,500) to his wife, only for the woman to steal the money and then elope with another man.

The heartbroken man learned that the real reason his wife had been pressuring him into selling one of his kidneys had nothing to do with the well-being of their child. Some time ago, she had met a man from Barrackpore through Facebook, and the two eventually became romantically involved. She planned to abandon her family and move in with her lover, but she decided to first squeeze every penny out of her husband.

After his wife’s disappearance along with the family savings, the man filed a complaint with the local police who tracked the woman down in Barrackpore. The husband, his 10-year-old daughter, and his parents all went to Barrackpore to confront the woman who had abandoned them, but she would not be swayed.

Despite their pleas, the woman refused to unlock the door and even told her husband that he was free to do whatever he wanted and that she would soon be filing for divorce.

“Do what you want, I will be sending a divorce letter,” the woman reportedly told her husband.
