Wikki Spikers of Bauchi have emerged champions of the 2025 President Beach Volleyball Championship.
They achieved the feat on Friday at the Murtala Mohammed Square Kaduna, after trouncing Nigerian Correctional Service in two straight sets, 2-0.
To book a place in the final, Wikki edged out defending champions, Kada Kings also in two straight sets on Thursday.
Correctional however, made history as they qualified for the final of the President Beach Volleyball for the first time.
The duo of Dauda Saje and Chinedu Pascal beat Anista VC in the men’s semi-final played at the Muritala Muhammed Square on Thursday.
With the outcome of the final, Wikki were first, Correctional placed second and Kada Kings third.
In the senior female final, Kada Emerald sunk their opponents, Adamawa Queens 2-0 to lift the trophy.
For the girls U-17 category, Golden Spikers beat Young Eagles 2-0 (21-9, 21-17) to emerge champions.
In the Boy’s U-17 final, Kada Stars beat Young Eagles 2-0 (21-14, 21-13).
As part of activities of the closing ceremony, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod gave lectures on Sports and Conservation.
Engr. Nimrod advised all those present to always plant a tree when they fell one.
He attributed incidents of global warming resulting to flood and other natural disasters to indiscriminate felling of trees.
As a philanthropic gesture, he also distributed hundreds of economic trees seedlings to five volleyball academies, two schools, dignitaries and journalists present.
