The daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, Temi, has opened up about her decision to change her name following her marriage to singer Tosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi.
Naija News recalls that Temi sparked public reaction for dropping her father’s name, ‘Otedola’, after her marriage to the Nigerian superstar.
In an interview with the BBC, Temi said she is currently married, and the obvious thing is to take her husband’s name.
Speaking about their relationship, the thespian added that moving in silence allowed her to build the story she wanted and share it when she was ready.
She said, “I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice. I also respect a woman’s ability to choose.
“Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready”.
Meanwhile, Disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has described marriage as the strongest partnership a person can enter.
In a post on Twitter, the singer referred to marriage as a bond, a family, and a purpose, with God as the witness.
She wrote: “Call me old school, but I see marriage as the most powerful partnership in life. Maybe even the most important contract you will ever sign… with God Himself as the witness.
“Seeing my baby sister Temi become Mrs Ajibade reminds me that marriage is far from outdated. With the right person, it pulls you closer to purpose and builds love, family, and legacy.”
