Sanku was involved in a horrific vehicle accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Ibadan early Monday morning. The news of the collision soon spread on social media, with photographs and videos showing the truck colliding into a ditch. Sanku, who was in the car with his companion, was brought to the hospital. They were pronounced deceased a few hours later.
Funmi Awelewa, a Nollywood actress, wrote on Instagram that she sent one of her students who lives near Bowen Hospital to check on him, and he told her he was responding to therapy.
Awelewa stated that despite her prayers against death, Sanku died.
