First Bank Plc has stressed its commitment to boost Nigeria’s tourism and economy.
The Acting Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Yinka Ijabiyi, who spoke at the grand finale of the three-day E1 Lagos GP at the weekend, said the bank would continue to be involved in driving initiatives that enhance creative culture across the country.
He stated that the vision of the bank as sponsors of the E1 Lagos GP was to champion a movement that would continue to celebrate global ideas and innovations that are not only sustainable but that could also push the boundaries of sustainability, and unleash the “unstoppable Vybes of Lagos” onto the global stage.
He stated that the success recorded with the first-ever all-electric powerboat racing competition in Africa was a good testimony that the brand was not only determined to drive every initiative that prosper Lagos State, but was ready to transform the Lagos coastline into global reckoning.
While highlighting the cultural and economic prospects of the sporting event, Ijabiyi noted also that Lagosians and business owners at the maiden edition of the event would continue to cherish the memories of the first-ever racing competition in the state.
“It is our duty to support Nigeria’s growth trajectory. First Bank Plc is committed to nurturing talents and unlocking the transformative potential of sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment.
“What we have achieved so far as proud sponsors of the E1 Lagos GP was to play a central role in the cultural momentum of the nation. We delivered more than premium entertainment access and created unforgettable shared experiences that unite families and bolster the creative industry.
“We also provided an experience of luxury and lifestyle on board our stunning boats, where cutting-edge engineering meets breathtaking design. We have also transformed the Lagos coastline into a ‘Vybe’, fusing sports with the vibrant pulse of entertainment, fashion, and culture.
“Our participation in the success of the E1 Lagos GP was part of our vision to showcase that we are committed to the future,” Ijabiyi stated.
There was a little delay in the final racing competition due to the rain that lasted for several hours, but the attendance at the grand finale was also impressive, featuring different genres of music and assorted entertainment.
