We’ll hold Nigerian Govt if anything happens to him

US lawmaker, Congressman Riley Moore has issued a strong warning that the United States will hold the Nigerian government responsible if anything happens to Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a Plateau pastor drawing global attention to what he describes as a “Christian genocide.”

Moore, who represents West Virginia, made the statement in a post on his X account shortly after Rev. Dachomo revealed he had been receiving threats from loyalists of President Bola Tinubu.

“How can you trust a government that doesn’t even show up when you ask them to? The US will hold the Nigerian government responsible if anything should happen to the Pastor,” Moore said.

The outspoken preacher had earlier said someone had warned him to stop exposing the Tinubu government over ongoing attacks on Christians by Fulani terrorists.

He also alleged that a high-ranking official in the administration had called him following a visit from a presidential adviser cautioning him about criticizing the government.

The threats allegedly sought to stop him from posting videos documenting Christian killings and mass burials in Plateau State.

Less than 24 hours after speaking out, Dachomo’s Facebook page disappeared, and a new Instagram page he opened was deleted within another 24 hours.

Meta later denied him access to his accounts entirely, citing his content as a “national security threat” to Nigeria. The move sparked outrage among local and international activists, many of whom have offered him legal support.

Congressman Moore described the pastor as being in clear danger. He also recalled an earlier incident in which Dachomo reportedly warned authorities of an imminent attack, which the government dismissed as “fake news,” only for 13 people to die the following day.
