DAMATURU – The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Professor Bukar Jamri, has stated that the Management of the University will continue to give priority to people with special needs through various scholarship programmes in the institution.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor made the assertion today 20th February, 2025 during the Second Yobe Volunteers Award organized by Ummaty International Charity Foundation in collaboration with Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
Prof. Jamri while delivering a vote of advices said there would always be the vulnerable among people in the society.
He stressed that people are obligated to do the best they can to mitigate the unpleasant conditions of the needy.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor said, “I would like to commend the organizers of this event for recognizing and awarding individuals and corporate bodies that have contributed to meeting the needs of the vulnerable in our society.
“I have no doubt in my mind that this award will motivate the awardees to do more.”
Professor Jamri while announcing an undisclosed amount of donation on behalf of the University Community, commended the both foundation and SEMA with the support of His Excellency, the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for making life better for the vulnerable in the state.
