Watch Moment Sule Lamido Exchanged Warm Greetings with Tinubu at Kaduna Mosque

Former Jigawa State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Sule Lamido extended a warm greeting to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna on Friday, displaying a rare moment of mutual friendship amid Nigeria’s often fractious partisan landscape.

The encounter unfolded during Tinubu’s one-day working visit to the northern state, where he attended the high-profile wedding of Nasirudeen Yari—son of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari (APC, Zamfara West)—at the historic mosque, one of Kaduna’s largest religious sites built in 1962.

As the president mingled with dignitaries following the ceremony, Lamido, a vocal critic of Tinubu’s administration in recent months, approached with a firm handshake and broad smiles, captured in viral videos that’s making the rounds on social media.

The interaction, lasting mere moments but laden with symbolism, was hailed by observers as “politics without bitterness.”

Sunday Dare, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, shared footage on X, captioning it: “They cannot but love him because he is not like them… He conquers them with his ideas and, to boot, with his hearty laughter.Nigeria moves on from reforms to recovery under President Bola Tinubu GCFR.”

The clip showed the duo exchanging pleasantries, with Tinubu’s signature laugh echoing against the mosque’s backdrop, drawing chuckles from nearby guests.
