The registration and screening exercise of the orphans across the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state sponsored by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District has entered day two.
The team of officials conducting the invaluable and epochal exercise have already visited Wamakko LGA and had successfully concluded their assignment there.
At the Wamakko centre, Wamakkao and Kware LGAs were merged to register their orphans as directed by Wamakko,a former governor of the state.
As planned, each ward of the areas will bring 20 orphans for registration and screening, ahead of the Special Sallah package by Senator Wamakko.
The Chairmen of the two LGAs, Hon. Attahiru Ruggar Giwa, of Kware and his counterpart of Wamakko, Hon. Ahmad Umar Dundaye, all commended the initiative of the Senator.
The visibly elated duo also described the move of his philanthropic gestures to the indigents in the state as very heartwarming and worthy of emulation by other affluent citizens of the state and Nigeria in general.
They further prayed the Almighty Allah to ceaselessly and abundantly reward, guide and help the Senator towards the success of his life in this transient world and the hereafter.
The Programme Coordinator, Alhaji Bashar Muhammad, said the exercise was hitch-free, while his Co-ordinator Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, disclosed that they are receiving many accolades from different strata of people in the state.
