WAEC releases 2018 results

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has released results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates 2018-First Series.

The exams body in Lagos on Monday said 17.13% candidates secured pass in English Language and Mathematics.

It also added that the results of 1,021 candidates, representing 9.03% of the total candidates who sat for the examination were withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.

    1. Why is it the percentage of people passing English and Mathematics so low like this,are we so poor to this level?

  1. Well I the only student should always try to read up to the moon standard before exams in other not to be involved in malpractice.

  2. I think that the way forward towards curbing this scourge of examination malpractices for WAEC is to apply Information Technology just like JAMB is doing presently. That way, they could ensure credibility of their exams because candidates are fast losing faith in them.

  3. Most recently, exam malpractice has been a normal thing in Nigeria academic system, so there’s less effort to curb the menace.

  4. It commendable that the exam was able to release results of candidates less than two months after exam.

  5. corruption is everywhere so I wondered why jamb are complaining about malpractice when they are the one causing it
